Quoting
How quoting works, the re-quote queue, and what wins customers over.
- How quoting works at BeamsUp to three builders quote each Beams project. The customer compares quotes side by side and chooses — the majority don’t pick the lowest price. Quotes are due within four working days of your assessment.
- Limits and job accessHow many jobs you can quote for, the value of jobs you can bid on, and how to change your limits.
- Time-to-Quote and the re-quote queueMedian Time-to-Quote across your last 20 quotes is the headline behavioural metric. Re-quotes have a 2-working-day default deadline, with one extension allowed.
- Updating a quote after design lockWhen the customer's design is finalised, your quote may need updating against the final brief. The re-quote runs through the same tool, with a four-working-day deadline.
- Using the quoting toolThe Beams quoting tool is in the dashboard. Add lines for labour and materials separately, scaffolding as its own line, lead flashings broken out where relevant. Submit when ready.
- What to do if the Beams initial estimate looks lowThe initial estimate is generated by our platform from data on past projects. It's a starting point, not a price you're expected to match. You're in control of your pricing — quote on what the site visit and the conversation tell you the work should cost. If you see patterns of low estimates, tell us.
