Steps

  1. Apply. Through the application form on beamsrenovation.com/for-builders. Tell us about your business — years of experience, project types, location, recent work.
  2. Document review. We verify insurance (£5m public liability, £5m employer's liability), business registration, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and Value Added Tax (VAT) credentials where applicable. Send us copies; we check.
  3. Build team conversation. A conversation with our build team about technical approach, scope of past work, and the way Beams projects run. This is where we work out whether the way you operate is a good fit for the platform.
  4. In-person project review. We visit a recently completed project — finished within the last 12 months — and assess craftsmanship in person. This is the part that tells us whether the work is at the level a Beams customer expects.
  5. Builder Agreement. Once approved, you sign the Beams Builder Agreement and Code of Conduct, and you join the network. Your profile gets set up; your first leads start coming in.

Timing

The process usually runs over a few days, depending on your availability for the project visit and how quickly the document review clears.

What to prepare

  • Insurance certificates — current Public Liability (PL) and Employers' Liability (EL).
  • Business registration documents.
  • CIS / VAT certificates if applicable.
  • References — past customers willing to talk to us briefly.
  • A recent project we can visit.
  • Photos of past work — for your profile, if accepted.
