Choosing jobs well
You choose which jobs to quote for. Choosing well — jobs that fit your business and your capacity — is what keeps your win rate healthy.
You're in control of what you quote
On the Beams marketplace there are no invitations to accept or decline — you browse All Jobs and pick. The judgement that matters is which jobs to take.
Set your filters so the right jobs surface
The lever is your job preferences, not your acceptance behaviour. If you're declining a lot, the issue is usually that the leads coming through don't fit your business — which means the preferences need adjusting.
- Postcodes — only the ones you'll travel to.
- Project types — only the ones you take on.
- Minimum job value — set realistically.
- Capacity — contact the Beams team when you don't have capacity, so we can pause your invitations rather than have you decline a wave in a row.
Quote what you can deliver
Your quote cap limits how many live quotes you can hold at once — it’s there so jobs don’t stack up faster than they can get your attention. If you’re near it, don’t force the next job: a stretched quote loses more often, and slow turnaround feeds back into your cap. The section Limits and job access covers how the caps work and how to change them.
"Not for me"
If you open a job and it isn’t right, mark it not for me and say why — location, scope, timing. It tidies your view, and the reasons help us improve what’s listed near you.
If you've got a lot on
Tell us — we can ease your caps back for a few weeks rather than have jobs stall. Request a review from your dashboard, or message your Beams contact.
