The contracts behind your project
The agreements that apply to your project, with one line on what each covers and a link to the current version.
Renovations involve a few different agreements. We've tried to make them as easy to read as possible — and if anything's unclear, get in touch and we'll talk you through it. Most customers only need to read one of them in detail: your Home Improvement Contract (HIC). The others sit in the background.
The contracts that apply to your project
- Customer Agreement — the agreement between you and Beams. Sets out our role and the boundaries of what we provide. (View current version)
- Platform Terms of Use — the terms covering your use of the Beams platform itself. (View current version)
- Privacy Policy — how we handle your data. (View current version)
- Home Improvement Contract (HIC) — the agreement between you and your builder for the construction works. Beams is not a party to this contract — you're contracting directly with your builder — but we generate it from a standard template. (View current version)
- Joinery Improvement Contract (JIC) — applies if your project includes bespoke joinery. The agreement between you and your Joinery Partner, sitting alongside the HIC. (View current version)
Where to find your contracts
All your signed contracts live in your dashboard under Documents, within the Payments tab. If you can't find one, email us and we'll send you a copy.
What each contract is the authority on
If you have a question about a process — how milestones work, how change orders run, how the warranty is triggered — start with the relevant help-centre article. If you have a question about your specific binding rights, read the relevant contract or ask your renovation assistant. The articles describe the operational reality; the contracts are the authority.
