The points subsystem
Points are the day-to-day mechanic builders interact with. Earn for quotes, site visits, completed projects, customer feedback. Lose for late, missed, or low-quality activity. Reset quarterly.
Points are the visible day-to-day mechanic in the Reputation System. Every action you take during a quarter has a points consequence — most are positive, a few are penalties. Points accumulate live on your dashboard.
Points you earn
- Quote returned within deadline: +50 (default win condition).
- Quote returned at least 24 hours ahead of deadline: +100 (replaces the +50 — doesn't stack).
- Site visit completed on schedule: +50 (counts the visit itself, not the rating).
- Site visit rating ≥ 8/10: +100 (bonus on top of completion).
- Site visit rating ≥ 9/10: +200 (replaces the +100 bonus — doesn't stack).
- Net Promoter Score (NPS) feedback received from a completed project: +200 (awarded when feedback lands, regardless of score).
- Project completed: +500 (awarded at handover).
- Project NPS ≥ 9: +500 (bonus on top of completion).
Points you lose
- Quote missed (no submission, no extension): −300 per quote.
- Site visit no-show: −500 per visit.
- Site visit rating < 5/10: −200 per visit.
- Re-quote past extended deadline: −200 per re-quote.
Worked example
A builder over a single quarter might:
- Get four site visits booked and attend all four on schedule: +50 × 4 = +200.
- Score 9/10 on two of those visits and 8/10 on the other two: +200 + +200 + +100 + +100 = +600.
- Submit three quotes within deadline and one quote a full day early: +50 + +50 + +50 + +100 = +250.
- Win two projects from those quotes. Complete one within the quarter: +500.
- That project lands an NPS of 9: +500 (feedback received) + +500 (NPS bonus) = +1,000.
Quarter total: +2,050 points. If the same builder missed a quote (−300) and had one visit rated 4/10 (−200), they'd net out at +1,550.
Where you see your balance
Points accumulate live on your builder dashboard with a breakdown of what's earning what. They reset to zero at the start of each quarter (1 January, 1 April, 1 July, 1 October).
Quarterly reset
Points reset to zero at the start of each quarter (1 January, 1 April, 1 July, 1 October). The level you qualify for is calculated from the points balance you ended the quarter with — combined with the underlying quality gates.
Why a quarterly cadence
The quarterly cadence balances visibility and stability. A monthly cadence would be twitchy — a single bad week could move your level. An annual cadence would feel disconnected. Quarterly is short enough that progress is visible, long enough that performance settles into a true reading.
