How it works
1. Review your project
Check your project details in your dashboard — rooms, scope, and budget. This becomes your project brief and helps Beams match you with the right builders.
2. Share your availability
Add as many time slots as you can over the next week. The more you share, the faster we can arrange meetings. Most customers meet builders within a few days.
3. Beams matches you with vetted builders
We’ll connect you with up to three trusted builders based on your project type, budget, and location. Each builder reviews your brief and accepts if it’s the right fit. You can choose which builders you’d like to meet — or skip any that don’t feel like the right match.
4. Builders book meetings at your home
Once a builder accepts, they’ll book a free, no-obligation meeting straight through your dashboard. You’ll see their profile — photos, experience, and reviews — before they arrive.
5. Meet your builders
Each visit lasts about 30–60 minutes. Builders will:
- Walk through your space and discuss your goals.
- Flag any structural or technical considerations.
- Share ideas to help you make the most of your budget.
It’s a practical, no-pressure chat. Ask about feasibility, timelines, build methods, or anything else that helps you feel confident.
6. Compare your quotes
Once you’ve met your builders, you’ll see up to three quotes side by side in your dashboard. Each shows:
- Construction costs by room
- Estimated total and timeline
- Builder details and experience
- A clear description of the builder’s scope so you know you’re comparing like with like.
You can message builders with questions or book a quick call with your planner for advice.
What happens next
After you’ve reviewed your quotes, you can select a preferred builder and secure their availability by making a £1,000 deposit in your dashboard.
Your remaining construction payment is made at least two weeks before your target break-ground date. At that point you’ll review and sign your Home Improvement Contract (HIC), which includes project details including Payment Milestone dates, so everything’s clear before construction begins.
