Stoke Newington, N16

Ellie and Fred live in a Grade II listed building in leafy Stoke Newington. They wanted their upstairs bathroom to be as sprightly and joyful as their kids, with the luxurious attention to detail that the adults in the household enjoy.

Plan

Brooke planned Ellie and Fred’s renovation around their family’s busy travel schedule. As their home is a listed building, we worked with a conservation consultant to make sure none of the changes required planning permission.

Design

Ellie and Fred worked with Simon, their designated Beams designer, to marry their love of bold, Moroccan-style tiling, with the restrained, rounded detailing typical of classic British bathrooms. To complete the look: a pink statement bathtub, to delight the couple’s daughters.

Build

Beams paired Ellie and Fred with Tom and his team. Tom has 22 years experience. He’s been running his company since 2015, and has completed 150 bathrooms, as well as21 full home renovations. His customers compliment him for his attention to detail and punctuality, which was vital given Ellie and Freddie’s busy schedules.

Completion

A fun, fearless bathroom that the adults love as much as the kids. Handcrafted statement tiles from Bert and May are balanced by bathroom fixtures from Burlington, which evoke the building’s heritage. Painted pink to delight the little ones, the cast iron roll top bath gives the room a vintage feel, while doubling down on contemporary luxury.

On time and on budget

“Beams made renovating my bathrooms a real pleasure. They guided me through the whole process and matched me with a very trustworthy contractor. I felt in control and supported through the entire project. The finish on all three of our bathrooms is fantastic, we couldn't be happier!”
